There was quite a bit of stuff to go through in Fortnite’s v12.30 patch today, and unfortunately Epic Games has stopped releasing official patch notes.

This means we can’t really get into the nitty gritty of today’s big update. But we can highlight some of the changes and upcoming changes, as well as the leaks.

New Items

Crash Pad

Two new items were added in today’s update. The first is the Crash Pad. This is an item, rather than a trap, that you can toss down and use to launch high into the air. The more times you bounce on it, the higher you go. And you don’t take fall damage when you land, meaning this could be a very valuable item for builders.

Here’s the Crash Pad in action:

Pretty cool!

Kingsman Umbrella

The second new item is the Kingsman Umbrella. This is not a reward umbrella/glider. It’s a weapon that’s actually quite similar to the light sabers that were introduced last season.

The umbrella comes in rare, epic, and legendary and is essentially a melee weapon that can also be used to deflect incoming damage, slow (but not completely prevent) a fall and can be charged up to propel players forward.

Here’s how it works:

Very much like the light saber but far more stylish. A gentleman always duels with an umbrella.

Deadpool Leaks

Several new Deadpool items leaked in the v12.30 patch as well.

These include a second, grotesque Deadpool Unmasked skin which you’ll be able to unlock via the week 8 Deadpool challenges:

Deadpool’s Hand Cannonsâ€"a special dual pistol weaponâ€"will be coming to the game soon. They’re pretty sweet looking:

Other Deadpool stuff coming at the end of the week include new Deadpool Supply Drops and the Yacht getting a full makeover as Deadpool sets up residence there. The party will likely kick off this Friday when the Week 7 Deadpool challenges go live.

That’s when you’ll be able to finally get the Deadpool skin, assuming you’ve completed all the challenges so far.

Check out all the leaked Easter skins found in today’s update here.

There were almost certainly other tweaks and changes in the update but without official patch notes we’re mostly in the dark. Oh well. Cool to see Epic continue to add fun new items and the whole Deadpool thingâ€"while weird and largely age-inappropriateâ€"is fun.
